Florida, Bimini, and the Conch Republic -- November 29 - December 12, 2006

This trip is rated 5 little globes out of 5 on the Globe-Trotting Globe-o-meter.

Part the Second - In which we bail out of South Beach and wander around in the Everglades looking for, and ultimately finding, the Gulfo de Mexico.

Sue was quick to point out that it wasn't so much the "Right Choice" as it was the "Only Choice" for grocery shopping in Everglades City.

Then it was Bowman Beach back on Sanabel Island for some sea shell collecting.  Sue more than rose to the task, but little did we know what sea shell treasures waited for us on the shores of Bimini the next day.

We were seduced by our naive and overly-romantic idea that the light house on Sanibel Island would be a charming old-world traditional light house.  We were wrong.  We definitely did not pay the $4.00 parking fee, and exited the parking area in an accelerating arc without stopping, while furtively capturing this ugly image of the ugly light house.  Ya win some of 'em, and ya lose some of 'em, and this one we lost.
